Bark Park Dog Agility

A fundraising campaign was launched to buy new dog agility equipment and a memorial plaque in memory of a local man, called Roy who used to organise dog training sessions at Highbridge’s Apex Park.

The Friends of Apex Park together with Roy's friends managed  to raise at £2500 to go towards the Bark Park  and memorial plaque in memory of Roy who used to do dog training at Apex Park. A Bark Park is dog agility equipment which  is free for all to use.

Roy started training dogs at Apex in the 70’s right up to 2017 when he had to give up due to ill health. Unfortunately Roy died in February 2018 .

No doubt Roy helped loads of local people over the years with socialising and any training their dogs needed. He was always at Apex Sundays come rain or shine and a lot of people (and dogs) benefited from Roy’s help.

Somerset Councill have helped with costs and  assisted the Friends with applying for grants. The full cost was approx £10k.

We're aware the ground conditions are a little muddy at the new bark park in Apex, but it’s great it has been so busy.

Our Clean Surroundings team have laid recycled bark chipping to help with the issue.
